Short and not great.

This short novella by M Celeste is the story of Jake and Logan, two former college roommates who re-connect after Jake's former lover dies in a car wreck. It's pretty much what you expect with no original romantic scenes or dialogue.
What I couldn't stand was the choppy dialogue between the characters. paragraphs didn't make much sense from one sentence to another. There was non-sequenters galore. Commas were used where a period was needed and vice versa. This made reading hesitant and difficult.
I recently read the blog of a gay author of m/m romances. He wrote that he hated when female writers used words like; "Need," "Bed now," "Want," in bedroom scenes between men because no one actually spoke like this in real life. After reading this story,I now understand have ridiculous it sounds. A third of this novella revolves around sex scenes and the continuous litany of "want," "need you," "naked," and " now" was just too much. Try something by Josh Lanyon, Amy Lane or Mary Calmes instead.

Second Chance

I really enjoyed Need You Now by Mercy Celeste. It's a story about two best friends who finally admit they want each other after years of unspoken love and unfulfilled need. Jake has always loved his roommate and best friend Logan but thinks Logan is straight. After Jake experience a tragic lost, he comes back home and he and Logan must share their feelings in order to finally be together. I liked that Logan showed his insecurities and his emotions openly for Jake to see. Logan has always been the confident and sexually active one and it was nice to see that he wasn't sure about where he stood with Jake and had to work hard to make things right between them. It was nice to see two guys actually having a deep meaning conversation about their feelings. Jake had to work past misunderstanding and a tragic loss in order to let Logan back into his heart. His letting go of a past love touched my heart. This story was filled with love, friendship and great sex.

Sweet book

Don't get me wrong. It was hot, but sweet nonetheless. I love Mercy's stories. Since I'm new to this genre, I'm still learning what I like and what I don't. Ms. Mercy, I like! Hot guys that love hot guys, like it a lot!!!!! Happy Reading!!!!
