I originally published this book in June 2014 with the intent of educating the masses of the risk of a fast-growing extreme exercise program. In my first edition I cited current research, anecdotal evidence, and provided scientific theory as to how a specific extreme exercise program could seriously harm you. Can this program help you? Sure. You can lose weight, gain muscle mass, but most exercise specialists across the world are asking: at what cost? I am happy to say it only took 4 months for my book to scare this company’s legal and business team into finding a way to stop me.
I cannot name the name of the exercise program for their legal team will likely shut down my printing company on grounds of trademark infringement as they did in October 2014. Excellent Read - Very Informative - Well Written - Useful

Dr. Wells has written an excellent book containing ideas and examples discussed in informal conversations by educated fitness professionals for years. This book is meant to protect and inform exercisers of the possible dangers of a very popular world-wide exercise trend. Through peer-reviewed research and anecdotal evidence, Dr. Wells examines how this popular exercise trend may be putting the public at risk, and then does a great job suggesting ways for "X-Company" to improve, ways which I imagine all educated fitness professionals would agree would be for the betterment of its gym goers and the company itself. I commend Dr. Wells for writing what should have been written years ago, and for also exposing what is a much larger issue in the fitness industry; the lack of application of evidence based exercise and testing protocols. This book is a great read and Dr. Wells' recommendations at the end for finding a qualified personal trainer should be followed by all exercisers looking looking for supervised personal training.

Great story, great writing

Wow! Great story, great writing, and an important message. I commend Dr. Wells on his courage and persistence in getting this story out. It is the rare few who "tell it like it is" and are willing to accept the consequences of their actions. Dr. Wells' only motivation appears to be client safety. I concur with his message, and caution my own students and clients on the benefits and risks of Crossfit� training - particularly when beginning an exercise program, or without having a sufficient base of strength and flexibility.

Excellent Read

Excellent read from a very well versed and trained fitness professional. Eye opening to some of the truths that Cross Fitters may keep hidden. I have experienced through my sister (who cross fits 4-5 days weekly) that the repercussions of this exercise program can pose serious injury. She developed a hernea in her abdomen that required surgery. Be careful it's not all it's cracked up to be!
This book is packed with useful information for those looking to get fit or those who wish to maintain a healthy lifestyle! Highly recommend.
